before new year‘s eve
the celebration actually starts on new year‘s eve with the family reunion dinner. by new year‘s eve, you should have done the following：
clean the entire home to get rid of all the things that are associated with the old year.
put away all brooms and brushes.
pay all your debts.
resolve differences with family members, friends, neighbors and business associates.
buy the following：
red money envelopes,
oranges and/or tangerines,

flowers (especially plum blossoms, peach blossoms, water lilies),
a new set of clothes and shoes for children, preferably something red or orange.
get new dollar bills from the bank. insert the new dollar bills into the red envelopes. now the red envelope is called a lai see or lucky money envelope.
on new year‘s eve
get together with close family members (not including married daughters and their families) for the “reunion” dinner.
pay respect to ancestors and household gods. acknowledge the presence of ancestors because they are responsible for the fortunes of future generations.
open every door and window in your home at midnight to let go of the old year.
on new year‘s day
decorate your home with symbols of good fortune. here are some suggestions：
colors： bright red (happiness); gold/orange (wealth tangerines with leaves intact (long lasting relationships; being fruitful and multiply); persimmons (happiness and wealth
“chuen hup” circular candy tray (candy for sweet and circular for togetherness and continuity)。

第一乐章：年夜饭
“除夕夜主角”这个美誉的可只有年夜饭才能享有，全家人围坐在大圆桌边，哇！美味可口的饭菜摆了一大桌子，这些佳肴像磁铁一样把我肚子里的馋虫给勾了出来。我拿起了“双截棍”——筷子横扫每个菜盘子。嘿，收获不小，夹了一大把的菜。我狼吞虎咽的吃了起来，由于吃得太快，让调皮的饭小子得逞了，粘了我一脸的饭。妈妈见了逗趣地说：“哟，哪儿来的大花猫，怎么这么像露露呀！大家笑得差点把口里的饭给喷了出来。
第二乐章：春节联欢晚会
吃完了年夜饭，我迫不及待的打开了电视机，看起了春节联欢晚会，最让我难忘的节目是“森林舞会”，可爱的动物们欢聚一堂，欢快的跳着舞蹈。如果世界人民能把这支舞诠释出来，那就皆大欢喜啦！
第三乐章：放烟花
当12点的钟声敲响时，我们拿着一大箱烟花向院子里奔去，我从箱子里拿了一大把，心想：今年又可以过一回瘾了。我用打火机点燃引线，急忙跑开，只听一声巨响，一条火龙腾空而起，仿佛划破了漆黑的夜空。空中的火龙渐渐变成了小光点，犹如钻石镶嵌在黑宝石上。
旧的一年已经过去，充满生机和活力的一年正向我们走来。愿你抱着平安、揣着幸福、拥着健康、数着钞票、享着快乐，迈入新年！
今年除夕比起往年，不知怎的？是我的品位高了，还是真不如以前，总感觉春节的年味变淡了。淡到我不得不一再放低标准来维持自己的快乐。想起以前的春节，那才是快乐春节的存在
小时候不在乎任何的一个节日，除了除夕。从11月开始翻日历，不断地问爷爷，爷爷，什么时候过年啊？早着呢！他不耐烦的回答。
那时候我天天盼着，天天翻着。又是恨不得一天翻三次，有一天就想撕两张。更恨不得让宇宙膨胀的快一点。
终于熬到了腊七腊八，喝着香甜的腊八粥，心里想着我的除夕终于快到了。
开始购置年货了，我耐不住性子了，迫不及待跟着爷爷去买吃的，肉、干果、零食和鞭炮。再去书店逛逛，买上十几本书，回家开始贴春联、贴窗花，打扫卫生。
除夕到了！
刚睁开眼睛，便看见了满桌的水果，满桌的饭香，他们散发了极为诱人的香气。我贪婪地吸着，仿佛是对氧气的依赖，不能离开。
扫完一桌水果，满意的打了一个饱嗝，又去扫荡零食了。
到了晚上，才是好戏的开始，灯火齐明，烟火和星光交织在一起格外热闹。看完春节联欢晚会也就12点，这晚是要守岁的。我登上屋子，躺在房顶上，仰望着最美的星空，我陶醉了。烟火与星光互相辉映着，我躺在阳台上感受着。这才是自然，这才是我要的除夕。
除夕里的年味近几年越来越淡，原来的压岁钱只是一种祝福，现在却变成了一种收财的手法。希望在以后，不要再忆除夕，而是要庆除夕，找回以前浓浓的年味！
