it's very cold in winter. there is snow and ice everywhere and you are always in a white world. you must wear warm clothes. the most exciting thing is playing with snow. skating is also very interesting there.

far and away the most important holiday in china is spring festival, also known as the chinese new year. to the chinese people it is as important as christmas to people in the west. the dates for this annual celebration are determined by the lunar calendar rather than the gregorian calendar, so the timing of the holiday varies from late january to early february.
to the ordinary chinese, the festival actually begins on the eve of the lunar new year＇s day and ends on the fifth day of the first month of the lunar calendar. but the 15th of the first month, which normally is called the lantern festival, means the official end of the spring festival in many parts of the country.

spring festival is the most importantand popular festival in china.before spring festival ,the people usually clean and decorate their houses.and they go to the flower fairs to buy some flowers.during spring festival ,the adults usually give lucky money to children.people often get together and have a big meal.some people eat dumpling for dinner.

我是中心小学四（1）班的廖俊。我要当个寒假好少年，因为我这个寒假过得比大家有趣、丰富。
这个寒假，我认真完成学校布置的寒假作业，每一道题目都先自己独立思考，在不懂的情况下才向爸爸妈妈请教，并且字迹工整。在完成学校布置的寒假作业以外我还主动复习上学期的功课和预习下学期的功课，巩固知识，充实自己。在学习之余，我不忘劳逸结合。每天我都要看几本书，再练些字，然后做几页口算，最后去广场骑骑单车，和朋友玩玩游戏。因此，春节前就轻松的做完了寒假作业。
春节期间，我就回梅州过年了。我去帮外婆摘菜，我来到了外婆的菜园，看中了几棵新鲜的大白菜，我把它们小心翼翼地拔了出来，到水沟里洗了一下根上残留的土壤，就开开心心地回外婆家洗好菜。我还帮外婆切菜。切得很均匀，每条菜长短都差不多。因为我知道，切菜时手要有力，心要平静，一刀一刀慢慢切。外婆她很高兴地夸我有厨师天赋。
我去了乡下的小溪边，捉了一条大约七厘米的鱼，我仔细看了看，“哇哦，好大好新鲜的鱼呀！”然后我把它放在一个大大的瓶子里，最后在瓶子里挖了一个“通风口”让它呼吸新鲜空气。
这就是我有趣、丰富的寒假生活！
