??每个人的童年都是值得回忆的，我的童年时代。有一件事，至今仍令我记忆犹新，在我七岁那年，我的日照老家刚刚用上电，邻村有一家新买了一台电视机14英寸，黑白的，每到傍晚，我都要跟着大一点的孩子急急赶往两里外的邻村看电视，然后踏着浓浓的夜色往家赶，有时还为迟了抢不到好位子万分懊悔，现在，我想孩子们不会为看不到电视而犯愁：大屏幕彩电、VCD、电脑游戏，应有尽有。短短十几年时间，我切身感受到了经济的发展，科技的进步带来的巨大变化！如果没有邓小平，如果不实行改革开放，中国还不知道穷成什么样子！在看到祖国经济发展的同时，我们更应该将眼光投向世界，关注一下世界的形势。如今的世界很不太平，其实也不曾太平。且不说两次世界大战给人类带来的痛苦无法抹去。越南战争、中东之战、海湾战争、伊拉克战争人类的灾难一场接着一场。然而，我们不会忘记，就在前几年以美国为首的北约对南斯拉夫、伊拉克一个个主权国家的暴行，我们更不会忘记，199９年5月8日北约导弹捍然袭击我驻南联盟大使馆。全国上下，群情悲愤！我们清楚，虽然我们经济取得了骄人的成就，但与发达国家相比，我们要做的还很多、很多，痛定思痛，无数次血的教训说明：落后就要挨打！实际上，处在我这个年龄段落的青年人都可算作是与改革开放同龄的，在这里，我想对我的同龄人说：伟大的祖国寄予我们厚望，希望也需要我们跨世纪的青年一代挑起祖国强盛的大梁，各国实力的较量，迟早要体现在年轻一代的身上，我们应时刻保持清醒的头脑。在享受祖国给予我们优厚物质条件的同时，应该感到我们肩上的担子很重。有人说：自五四青年运动以来，青年人从来都是走在时代前列的，而当代青年人似乎有些迷惘。我不敢苟同，君不见，香港回归激动得夜不能寐的有我们青年；勤奋学习，争相考研的是我们青年；抨击陈水扁台独论的有我们青年。谁又能说，我们是迷惘的一代呢？每年的七八月份都有许多新毕业的大学生走向了工作岗位，刚刚参加工作，我常听到有人埋怨这儿不够好，那儿又不如人家！我想环境、条件差不是借口，成绩才是说辞不要老是想着单位能给我们什么，要时刻记住我们能给单位做些什么！我们能给社会创造什么！我们能为伟大的祖国留些什么！你们想想：我们的前辈在那些困难的日子里，把生命最美好的年华都奉献给了工作，把他们所有的智慧和汗水都献给了祖国，我们还有什么舍不得拿出、舍不得奉献出来的呢？如果我们每一个人都有这样的意识，等到我们强盛的那一天，我们就不会遭人欺凌，看别人的脸色行事了。
最后，我愿带着自信，踏着清贫，和大家一道，迈入不平凡的2009年！我也衷心地祝愿我的家乡---日照港成为港口功能更加完善，综合实力更加雄厚，现代物流业较为发达的多功能、综合性、国际化、现代化的主枢纽港！

Patriotism implies a love for ones mother country. It is the noblest of human sentiments. Every citizen should possess some spirit of patriotism. Patriotism, however, is not to be testified by the tongue; it should be manifested in action. With this definite object in view, one must do his best for his motherland, and, at any moment, be ready to make sacrifices for her. The man who possesses such will is a real patriot at heart. ?
Patriotism may be shown in various ways: soldiers display it by fighting for or defending their country; scientists express it by doing constant research work so that more advanced technology can be introduced and utilized in the construction of their motherland; those overseas demonstrate it by doing whatever they can to help their motherland and fall into its embrace without hesitation whenever they are needed. ?
The true patriot desires righteousness and uprightness for ones own land. He puts love of his country before the love of himself, and is willing to makeany sacrifice for it.
